Ranch-Style Floor Plans

Location, Location, Location

Akin to the maxim that “the three most important things about real estate are location, location, location”, an equally true conclusion is that “the three most important things about floor plan selection are master bedroom location, master bedroom location, master bedroom location”. The factors that impact bedroom location preferences relate to:

  • The presence and ages of children
  • The need to accommodate inter-generational living
  • Health considerations
  • A desire to “age in place”
  • Simple convenience.

Floor plan Flexibility

In an ideal world you wouldn’t have to choose between whether your master bedroom is located at ground level or an upper floor. The master bedroom could be located with equal ease on either the first or second floor. For most of us that ideal world doesn’t exist, because many new home builders don’t offer floor plans containing a first floor master bedroom or personal budget constraints and/or the presence of infant children support selection of a floor plan where total house square footage is evenly divided between two floors and all bedrooms have a 2nd floor location.

Seawright Homes recognizes many home buyers who seek the advantages of a home having a first floor master bedroom and who appreciate the benefits of being able to “age in place” face limited choices. For that reason, Harvest Hill at The Orchard at New Market offers three ranch-style floor plans: the “Gala”, the “Crispin” and the “York”.

Of the three floor plans, the “Gala” is a true ranch floor plan, possessing the space and layout that accommodates up to three bedrooms and two and a half baths on a single level of the home.

The “Crispin” and “York” models each contain a first floor master suite, with bedrooms for children or guests on the second floor. These models also make it possible to have master bedroom suites on both the first and second floors. This flexibility is especially advantageous if one ultimately would prefer a first floor master suite, but before arriving at that phase of life may want to have a second-floor master bedroom or need a first-floor “in-law suite”.

It’s this flexibility in floor plan design that demonstrates our belief that, “For all of life’s cycles, Harvest Hill at The Orchard at New Market is your best choice”.
