The Gala

Elevation R-1

Priced from $350,100* (Options additional).

The Gala’s award-winning “ranch plan layout” is unique among Harvest Hill’s floor plans. The plan is set within 1 ½-story architectural elevations that can be found in New Market’s Historic District. This unlikely joining of floor plan and elevations permits comfortable, free-flowing living on one level—ideal for any stage of life. At the same time the floor plan adapts to either two- bedrooms and a den, three bedrooms, or even four bedrooms when the second-floor attic storage space is finished as a bedroom. Similarly, with regard to bathrooms, there can be 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 and 4.5 should a full basement bath be added.

Sight lines from the entry foyer rearward through a cathedral and raised ceiling great room immediately suggest the home's spaciousness. That sense of spaciousness is further heightened by the open great room’s connection to the kitchen and breakfast nook, with ample windows in all rooms adding natural light and brightness. The actual space itself can be expanded by enclosing the covered porch adjoining the breakfast nook and great room to create a sunroom, additional finished space or screen porch.

The roomy first-floor master bedroom, with coffered ceiling, has up to three walls for furnishings and up to five windows for cheering natural light. The combination of these attributes with a spacious walk-in closet and adjoining master bath, that features a walk-in shower with built-in shower seat, provide the layout and appointments that address a great variety of owner needs.

As with each Harvest Hill model, the key characteristic of the Gala floor plan is “flexibility”. The Gala’s master bath walk-in shower can be augmented by a soaking tub and an additional half-bath can be provided if needed. Similarly, if more storage space is required, the second-floor space can be expanded or basement space can be added to the home. And, for households focused around the kitchen, the combination of kitchen, breakfast nook and covered porch results in a family-friendly country kitchen. These few examples showcase the flexibility of the layout and design that makes the Gala model a home for all of life’s seasons.

THIS JUST IN...

Judges for the 2011 Frederick County Builders Association (FCBA) “Awards of Excellence” program apparently agreed with our belief that our Gala model is the most versatile and adaptable floor plan ever offered by Seawright Homes. While the home can be as compact as 1,800 sf and as large as 4,200 sf, the Gala retains the outward appearance of an inviting, comfortable cottage.

Though honored and proud when the Gala model received the 2011 FCBA Award of Excellence for “Best single family home design for $300,000 -$400,000,” we were not surprised.  At Harvest Hill, you will find the Gala and five other models that just as readily could have been recognized for excellence by our building peers.
